The AIS Desk Staff LibGuide: This Week at the AIS Desks

LibChat Desk Update Starting November 10th, 2025

Beginning November 10th, 2025, all desk staff members will be required to sign into their personal LibAnswers accounts on all three service desk due to a change in LibApps MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) policies.

On desk this will look like: 

• When logging on to desk for your shift, Incognito windows are recommended for Alma, Email, Box, Slack, etc. AND now LibChat/LibCal so it is easier to log out at the end of your shift.
• Any window that does not require logging in (Google, LibInsight, library website, LibGuide and FAQ) can remain in a standard Google Chrome Browser. 
• At the end of your shift, select the "Offline" status on LibChat and log out of your LibAnswers account entirely by returning to the LibAnswers dashboard.
• After logging out of your LibChat/LibCal, if you are using an incognito tab simply close the window to be automatically logged out of other applications. If using a standard browser, you will need to fully log out of every application that requires a log in (Alma, Outlook, Box, Slack, etc) before leaving the desk or you will remain logged in through out the day.

If you do not log out of LibChat completely at the end of your desk shift, the chat function will remain available all night long, meaning patrons will be chatting in with no staff member available to assist them.

Note: Your name will not be public facing. The nickname "UA Library Staff" has been given to all staff LibAnswers accounts.
