Census Quick Facts - provides statistics for all states and counties, and for cities and towns with a population of 5,000 or more.  Use the side-by-side tutorial to quickly get started.

Data.Census.Gov - is one of the most popular ways to pull Census data.  The Census collects and disseminates data about business and economy, employment, government, health, housing, income, poverty, and population.  The Census Academy has tutorials on how to use their products.

Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's data and statistics page is a collection of data about a wide variety of health topics. 

Arizona's Economic Indicators from Eller College of Management's Economic and Business Research Center (EBRC).

Arizona-Mexico Economic Indicators - Arizona-Mexico Economic Indicators: Arizona’s Trade & Competitiveness in the U.S.-Mexico Region focuses on Arizona’s trade with Mexico, assessment of the role of Arizona’s border ports of entry (BPOE) in the U.S.-Mexico border region, and monitoring key indicators of Mexico’s economy. 

University Libraries Data Cooperative - The Data Cooperative is a Library-based hub of data support services and resources for the UA faculty, staff, and student community. We aim to help individuals build capacity and foster interdisciplinary connections to solve research problems relating to data management, data science, visualization, and geospatial applications.

General Business Statistical Sources

Data sources:

  • Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) provides the leading business intelligence, data analytics, and research platform to global institutions—enabling historical analysis and insight into the latest innovations in academic research.  WRDS is available to all UArizona faculty, instructor, librarian, or Ph.D. candidates.  You must register on their site and be approved by the finance department.  WRDS is a resource provided by the Eller College of Management.

  • Data Axle Reference Solutions (formerly ReferenceUSA) historical data sets. The ReferenceUSA datasets from Data Axle (formerly Infogroup) contain establishment-level data about US businesses in annual snapshots from 1997-2019.
