FAQs

Why did you cancel RefWorks?

  • We decided to cancel based upon rising subscription costs combined with low usage along with the rising prevalence of free citation management tools.

Can I sign up and pay for an individual account with RefWorks?

  • No, unfortunately ProQuest RefWorks no longer offers individual subscriptions

Your plan of action to help migrate your citations to another management tool can include any of the following:

  • Use this RefWorks Transition Guide
  • Learn more about citation management tools like EndNote, Zotero and Mendeley [citation management guide coming soon]
  • Get in touch with your friendly librarians for support.

If I miss the February 2021 deadline to get my citations out of RefWorks, is there anything I can do?

  • Unfortunately no. You will be unable to access your account after (date here)

I am a UA alumnus who has been using RefWorks, will I also lose my access?

  • Yes. You will have to migrate your RefWorks citations to one of the other citation managers, even if you changed your log-in email address to a non-UA account.
