Session 6: Data Repositories and ReDATA

Description:

The presentation will provide an overview of the data repository landscape and include an introduction to ReDATA
Independent study work: a) Prepare a sample dataset and submit it to ReDATA to see first-hand what the curation process looks like. b) Coordinate with Fernando Rios (presenter) prior to making this assignment.

Time: 3 hours

Objectives:

a) Compare the differences between different types of data repositories (e.g. institutional,
disciplinary, funder repositories, etc.) b) Explain the basic features and benefits of ReDATA c) Gain practical experience with the entire process of preparing and depositing a dataset into ReDATA, including receiving feedback from ReDATA curators and making needed
changes
