  • Participate in the data management and sharing training curriculum.
  • Complete required assignments and assessments.
  • Coordinate with their department/unit research advisor on a plan for applying learned data management and sharing best practices.
  • Conduct a data management and sharing needs assessment of their research department/unit.
  • Facilitate data management and sharing training and outreach for researchers in their research department/unit.
  • Attend program group meetings and mentor meetings.
  • Write a reflection report at the end of the program to describe what types of activities were accomplished.

Session 1: Orientation

The orientation will provide an opportunity to meet and greet all members of the program including ambassadors and program mentors.  Ambassadors should plan to tell us about themselves and their research.  There will be a discussion of program and expectations.  The program mentors will determine what kinds of research ambassadors are working on, their experience with data management and sharing, and what they hope to get out of the program.  The pre-assessment survey results will also be discussed.

Time: 1.5 hours

Objectives: Ambassadors actively participate in the orientation discussion and meet the mentors and other ambassadors.
