For your Business Plan Project, choose a business that you would like to develop a business plan for. It should be one business you would like to start, someday, or your family business that you’d like to improve. If using a current family business, think about how things would be different under your management.
Refer to the Business Plan Project assignment for specific details about requirements, such as length and formatting.

Some book and article recommendations are provided to inform your thoughts for sections 1, 2, and 5, supplementing your textbook and in-class discussions.
Starting with a solid foundation in business research practices will help you efficiently gather research on the industry, market, and competition. Follow the step-by-step process and tutorials here to become more familiar with business research methods and resources and sharpen your research skills.
When you submit your Proposal, you will also be required to submit a certificate of completion for the following tutorial. Read the instructions below to access and complete the tutorial to generate a certificate.
Get a public library card!
The Pima County Public Library (PCPL) has a wealth of information on their Ignite: Business & Nonprofits website. Most resources (like the Business Plans Handbook ebook series) require a PCPL card for online access. For information on options, go to Get a Library Card or visit any PCPL location. (The Joel D. Valdez Main Library and Himmel Park Library are closest to the UA campus).
