Dennis Webster DeConcini graduated from the University of Arizona Law School in 1963. He was involved in various political campaigns and served as Pima County Attorney until 1976. He served three terms in the Senate and chaired the Subcommittee on Treasury, Postal Service, and General Government, and served on the Subcommittees on Defense, Energy, and Water Development, and Foreign Operations. He received recognition for his position on the Panama Canal Treaties of 1978 before receiving some notoriety for being one of the “Keating Five” involved in the Lincoln savings and Loan failure. He remained active in state politics as well and championed drug and law enforcement activities.
