K-12 Visit Guide

This guide is designed for K–12 groups visiting our campus library. Here you’ll learn how to explore our collections, learn research skills, and try fun activities while you visit. Follow the tabs to get started, and don’t be afraid to ask a librarian for help - they love sharing what they know!

K–12 group visits to the University of Arizona Libraries can be valuable when students’ projects require access to academic-level resources.

To ensure a successful experience, we recommend:

• Consulting with your School Librarian or Media Specialist to determine if the library’s resources fit your students’ needs.
• Preparing students with at least one session on research strategies and sources before the visit.
• Considering whether your students’ goals can be met through school or public libraries, which often better match elementary and middle school needs.

Teachers planning history-focused projects may also explore opportunities to visit Special Collections for hands-on work with primary source materials.

Classes interested in creative, technology-driven learning experiences can also explore Catalyst Studios, the Libraries’ innovation hub. Catalyst offers access to makerspaces, virtual reality, 3D printing, and other emerging technologies that allow students to engage with new tools and creative problem-solving.
