Library Search for Instructional Designers

For instructional designers supporting course development

As an instructional designer, you often help instructors choose and integrate course materials that are accessible and high-quality. The University of Arizona Libraries' Library Search is a powerful tool for locating and sharing these resources.

This guide helps you

  • Navigate Library Search to find materials
  • Understand license terms
  • Properly link materials in D2L courses

Library Search

Library Search is a single search tool that lets you explore the UA Libraries' collection, including physical books, ebooks, journal articles, news sources, streaming media, and Open Educational Resources (OERs).

Library Search is our custom-branded version of Ex Libris's Primo software. While some institutions refer to this as a catalog, we intentionally avoid that term. In our user testing, we found that "catalog" doesn't resonate with students.

You can access Library Search from the library homepage
