This is a review session for the students who took POL 602 and a session to get students who didn’t take POL 602 up to speed. I will be relying on POL 602 students to help carry the discussion.

• W. Richard Scott and Gerald F. Davis. 2007. Organizations and Organizing. Chapter 2-5, pp. 35-123. (Chapters 2-4 are mostly a review of what was covered in POL 602). Chapter 5 is new material which you should read carefully. Note: this ebook only allows 1 user to read at a time.
• Neil Fligstein, Organizations and Theoretical Debates and the Scope of Organizational Theory.  Handbook of Classical Sociological Theory, 2021, pp 487-506. This is a new way of thinking about the connections between the various theoretical approaches to organization theory. All students should read this carefully.
