A standard is a "documented agreement containing technical specifications or other precise criteria to be used consistently as rules, guidelines or definitions of characteristics, to ensure that materials, products, processes, and services are fit for their purpose." (ISO)

Students, faculty, and staff have full access to the ASTM and IEEE standards databases. The Accuris database can be searched to find other current standards. Any standard that is needed for a class project or research can be acquired for UA faculty, staff, or students.
