Endnote

Desktop version

Download EndNote desktop software -  free due to a campus license from the Libraries.

Web version

If you want to use EndNote on multiple computers,  try the web version. It has fewer features than the desktop version, but you can synchronize it with EndNote Desktop. That way, your information will stay up to date everywhere. See the EndNote Reference Guide for Online (PDF), for details on synchronizing.

UA staff, students, and faculty are eligible for a free EndNote Web account.

  1. Register for a EndNote Online account (use your UA email and set your own password)
  2. After you create your account, bookmark the EndNote Online sign-in page.

Create a free account on Mendeley.

Zotero

A free tool to collect, manage, cite, and share sources. 
Get started with Zotero

You can:

  • Download Zotero (Mac, Windows, Linux)
  • Use plug-ins for other web browsers, Word, and LibreOffice
  • Sync your Zotero library to view from any computer
  • Use portable Zotero on a flash drive to use on any computer
