Remember that if you cannot find an answer here, you have your coworkers, the full-time staff members, and Heidi, April, and Matt to help.

Special Projects

ILL Scanning Orders - Main 1st Floor
*COMPLETE SATURDAY 11/22/2025*
If you have not yet done ILL Scanning Orders on Main 1st, click the Project title and complete the training on Main 1st ILL Scanning and Delivering Requests in D2L. Once complete, email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu with confirmation of completion and move on the the next part of this project:
Make sure to place the do not disturb sign in front of the scanner when you begin. Please scan all books on the "ITEMS TO BE SCANNED" shelf, following instructions in the training. More detailed instructions and troubleshooting can be found in the drawer at the ILL Scanning desk. Once you have completed all ILL Scans, please email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu and note the number of books that were scanned, as well as the number of books placed on the "PROBLEM SHELF FOR SCANS". Place sign back in font of the computer monitor when done and sign off the computer.
Floors 3, 4 & 5 Whiteboards - Main Library
*COMLPETE SATURDAY 11/22/2025*
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for full instructions and photos. Get the "Floors 3 4, & 5 Whiteboards" caddy from the cart by Heidi's desk. Begin on Floor 5 and remove all moveable whiteboards from all study rooms. Place these at the ends of tables or in areas that are not blocking furniture. Erase all writing on all whiteboards, including the moveable whiteboards, the whiteboards on the wall outside of study rooms and on the walls inside study rooms. Replace the markers if needed, 2-3 per room/whiteboard and 1 eraser Move to Floor 4 and complete task, and then Floor 3. Email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu once complete noting which floors were done.
Clean Student Computers
*COMPLETE SATURDAY 11/22/2025*
After reading these instructions, click on Project title for step-by-step instructions and photos.
Get the "Clean Student Computers" caddy from the cart by Heidi's desk. On Main 1, clean computers by the grand staircase, in the Tiers, at the accessible station and at OSCR/Tech Zone. Use monitor cleaner and microfiber towel to clean all monitors.>>SPRAY THE TOWEL AND NOT THE MONITOR TO PREVENT DAMAGE<< Use disinfectant wipe to clean all keyboards, mice and other other accessories at these tables. If you see any trash on these tables, please discard. Gloves are available on the second shelf of the supply cart by Heid's desk. Stray dry erase markers and erasers should be placed at supply table. Email Opsstudentmanagers@lib.arizona.edu once complete and note which locations were done.
Clean Whiteboards - Main 1 and 2
*COMPLETE SATURDAY 11/22/2025*
After reading these instructions, click on Project title for step-by-step instructions and photos. Get the "Clean Whiteboards" caddy from the cart by Heidi's desk. On Main 1 and 2, clean whiteboards inside study rooms and all remove whiteboards from unlocked study rooms. Place at ends of tables. Discard non-working markers and damaged erasers, replace with new ones (3-4 different colored markers and 1-2 erasers per room), pick up stray markers and erasers from tables around grand staircase and use them to resupply study rooms and/or put extras back on supply table. This project is to be done in 1A, 1B, Tiers, 2A and 2B: Use CatCard to enter Scholar's Corner as well. Email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu and note which floors/areas were complete.
WSEL Whiteboards
*COMPLETE ON SATURDAY 11/22/2025*
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for step-by-step instructions.
Make sure you are wearing your ID badge.
Get the "WSEL Whiteboards" caddy from the cart by Heid's desk. Begin on floor 5 and work your way down to floor 1 to remove all movable whiteboards from unoccupied study rooms. Place these at the ends of tables or in areas that will not block furniture. Erase all writing on all whiteboards, including the movable whiteboards, the whiteboards outside of study rooms and inside all unlocked and unoccupied rooms. Group study rooms should have 3-4 different colored dry erase markers and 1 -2 erasers. Individual study rooms should have 1 dry erase marker if there is a whiteboard, and only if there is a shelf on the whiteboard to put the marker. Replace torn/damaged erasers but do not add more to individual study rooms. Email OpsStudentManagers@llib.arizona.edu once complete and note which floors were done.
Restart COW Computers - WSEL LS212 and MAIN B252/254
IF WSEL IS OCCUPIED, TRY AGAIN UNTIL IT CAN BE COMPLETED - EMAIL RESULTS*
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for step-by-step instructions and photos. At Main, follow the step-by-step instructions, At WSEL, follow step-by-step instructions beginning with step #9. The COW password is in Stache under COW Locations and Lock Combinations. Start with laptop #1. Click the windows logo and then "RESTART." Wait until the laptop restarts, and confirm that it reconnects to the Wi-Fi network. Once that is done, shut down and reshelf and move on to the next one. Once all laptops are done in MAIN and WSEL, email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu with the numbers completed and note any issues.
Replace/Clean Whiteboards (Main & WSEL)
DO NOT COMPLETE- NOT A CURRENT PROJECT
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for full instructions and photos. Get the "Replace/Clean Whiteboards" caddy, a supply of whiteboards and the Ops Student tablet from the cart by Heidi's desk. You will also need to get the rolling cart from B104 to use as a work surface. Beginning on the 5th floor in Main, open the survey on the tablet and clean/replace the whiteboards in the rooms designated, checking off the boxes as you complete each room. Email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu once Main is completed. Move to 5th floor WSEL and repeat the process there, emailing once complete.
Clean Tech Toolshed Tables
DO NOT COMPLETE- NOT A CURRENT PROJECT
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for full instructions and photos. Get the "Tables in Tech Toolshed" caddy from the cart by Heidi's desk. Begin at Table 1: First use microfiber towel and screen cleaner to clean technology (spray screen cleaner on towel NOT tech), use alcohol wipes to clean keyboards and touch points. Once all tech is clean, spray cotton towel with wood cleanser and clean/wipe down tables (including under the tech).Follow same process for Table 2 and 3. For Table 3, also clean 3D prints and trays in wooden box. Email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu once completed.
Locker Cleanout
DO NOT COMPLETE- NOT A CURRENT PROJECT
After reading these instructions, click on the Project title for full instructions and photos. Make sure to read the instructions fully as their are specific instructions regarding locker items/spills and radio procedures. Make sure to wear your ID badge.
Get the caddy with cleaning supplies (disinfecting wipes, gloves, paper towels, masks), the override key from the key box, and a radio from reception storage on Main 2nd floor. Use the override key to open and close each locker. If there are belongings in the locker, just close it without cleaning it. Discard any perishable items or trash. Wipe out each locker with a disinfectant wipe, including the top of the door and the keypad on each locker. Email OpsStudentManagers@lib.arizona.edu once complete with confirmation of completion.
