Community Health Initiative - Phoenix (CHIP)

EthnoMed is Harborview Medical Center's ethnic medicine website containing medical and cultural information about immigrant and refugee groups. Information is specific to groups in the Seattle area, but much of the cultural and health information is of interest and applicable in other geographic areas.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for improving health care to people who are geographically isolated, economically or medically vulnerable. HRSA programs help those in need of high quality primary health care, people living with HIV/AIDS, pregnant women, and mothers.

The NIH “Clear Communication” initiative that focuses on achieving two key objectives of health literacy:
Providing information in the form and with the content that is accessible to specific audiences based on cultural respect.
Incorporating plain language approaches and new technologies.

The primary goal of Clinical Conversations is to increase knowledge and awareness of health literacy and associated skills and tools. Clinical Conversations has built in discussion points intended to encourage conversation so participants can learn from one another.
