The Online Writing Lab - or OWL as it is known - not only provides an online MLA Formatting & Style Guide, but provides users with an annotated sample paper. Search through the OWL MLA Formatting & Style Guide to see how to format items in all types of media. If you were familiar with the MLA 7th edition and want to compare it to the MLA 8th (the edition currently in use), OWL lists what's new and different.
A citation management tool will do most of the heavy lifting for you. However, it is always a good idea to do some spot checking to ensure that your works cited list was properly formatted - and same with your in-text citations.
