Consultations and collaboration

As part of the Teaching with Primary Sources service, I consult with faculty and instructors to:

  • Provide guidance on locating, identifying, and selecting primary sources from library databases, open source digitized collections, and other sources, for use in courses.
  • Discuss teaching strategies for incorporating primary sources in your courses.
  • Collaborate on designing assignments that incorporate learning with primary sources and primary source literacy.
  • Help develop activities for in-class or asynchronous learning that encourage critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of primary sources.
  • Connect you with disciplinary librarians to incorporate information literacy instruction alongside primary source literacy instruction.

Resources & tools

Consult the Teaching with Primary Sources Portal to find curated lesson plans, primary source sets, tutorials, and other resources to support your teaching.

Search and browse databases to locate digitized primary sources.

Contact Special Collections for assistance using archival materials located there.
