Read Get Organized to learn some of Paperpile's features.

Once you have added some papers, you can start working with them in several different ways.

You will see a dropdown next to each of your entries. Click it to activate the controls for your entry.

 

Editing

The editing screen lets you add additional data to the resource. The fields that appear under it are searchable.

You can experiment with editing or adding additional notes to the abstract field, and keywords to the keyword field. You can also add additional fields to help you organize.

Adding Notes

Select the pencil below your citation to add notes. Notes are searchable, so this is a great place to add items that you want to track. See our sample matrix for ideas.

Adding Items to folders

Create folders by selecting the + sign next to the folders option on the left menu.

Drag and drop items from your All Papers list into specific folders to help you organize.
