Class 7.2 Objectives

The objectives of Class 7.2 are for students to:

Terms and Connectors Searching

  • Understand that a concept can be expressed in a variety of ways (different keywords)
  • Understand how to select useful keywords to use in a search
  • Understand how to formulate a simple search by:
    • Truncating verbs in a search
    • Using the singular form of terms to retrieve the singular and plural forms
    • Using quotation marks, AND, OR, and proximity connectors to construct searches

Arizona Case Law

  • Understand how the Arizona court system is organized (trial courts, appellate courts, high court)
  • Understand different types of opinions and case citations
  • Efficiently find cases using statutory annotations
