Research often begins with finding the statutes and regulations on your topic.
There can be statutes and regulations on the SAME topic, so no regulatory research is COMPLETE without searching for applicable statutes (and no statutory research is COMPLETE without searching for applicable regulations).
There are three ways to find Arizona statutes in the Arizona Statutes and Court Rules database on Westlaw:
The Arizona Statutes & Court Rules database on Westlaw contains the current Arizona statutes (from the Arizona Revised Statutes). On Westlaw, there are three ways to search for statutes.
1. You can run a search in the database.
2. Look in the index which is useful because it provides an alphabetical listing of topics with associated A.R.S. sections.
3. You can find A.R.S. sections by browsing through the table of contents. You can also search within a specific part of the table of contents.
The Arizona Administrative Code on Westlaw doesn't have an index but it is still easier to search than the Arizona Secretary of State version.
1. You can find Arizona regulations by running a search.
2. You can also find regulations by navigating through the table of contents.
