ADVANCED SEARCH IN REGULATORY INSIGHT

Advantages to using Advanced Search:

  • Often the most efficient way to search

Disadvantages to using Advanced Search:

  • You may inadvertently exclude a document you want if you search too narrowly
  • To take full advantage of the search features, you must already know a little bit about the document you want to retrieve

Using Advanced Search:

  • Search by agency, all words except full text, all words including full text, popular law name and subject.
  • Narrow by content type on the left-hand side of the screen
  • Limit by date below the search bar
  • Click on the "Find Terms" link next to the search box.  A screen will pop up that suggests possible search terms

FILTERING RESULTS IN ADVANCED SEARCH

If you make use of the many Advanced Search features, you will not even need to filter your results.  However if you wish:

  • Along the left-hand side of the page we can filter our results by date, content type, agency, and subject.
  • You can also search your results by entering new search terms and checking the "search within results" box
