MATLAB is a program that allows researchers to computationally manipulate and visualize large data sets.
According to the Bioinformatics Toolbox User's Guide , the Toolbox is an extension of the MATLAB program to provide "...an environment for genome and proteome analysis." (MATLAB, 2004, p. 1). Researchers in the fields of medicine, pharmaceutics, and the life sciences use this feature to model data and optimize products.
Please indicate if you are a student or faculty for proper download. Also note that PC users need to have at least a 64-bit Operating System (OS) in order to download MATLAB. 32-bit Operating Systems are no longer compatible with the software.
You will be asked to use your @email.arizona.edu address to create a Mathworks account. You will need to stay logged into this account in order to take advantage of their tutorials.
Computers equipped with this software are available in the Main, Albert B. Weaver Science-Engineering, and Fine Arts libraries.
If you cannot download the software or don’t have access to a computer with MATLAB on it, Mathworks has a web browser version of MATLAB available. You won’t be able to save any of your work on this version, and using it requires the creation of a Mathworks account (free).
