Structured Evidence Queries

Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce sponsors the  Healthy People 2020 Structured Evidence Queries (SEQs). This free online resource makes research evidence related to Healthy People 2020 objectives easier to find.

Healthy People 2020 is a set of goals and objectives to guide national health promotion and disease prevention efforts in the United States.

The National Library of Medicine, NIH, and the HHS Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion have worked together to develop preformulated search strategies for Healthy People 2020 objectives.

The tool provides one-click search strategies of PubMed, a databse of citations and abstracts for biomedical and public health literature from MEDLINE and online books.

The search queries were developed by public health librarians, working in consultation with subject matter experts in public health. The SEQs are available at
