Subjects and tags

Set tags

Be sure to add tags.

**Important** If you are creating a Subject, Course, or Topic Guide, the tags control which sub-section of the Subject Guides, Course Guides, or Topic Guides page it will appear under. Feel free to add more than one if your guide should appear in more than one sub-category.

Choose one of these tags for Subject or Course Guides.

  • interdisciplinary
  • agriculture
  • architecture
  • business
  • education
  • engineering-compsci
  • fine-arts
  • health-sciences
  • science
  • social-sciences
  • writing

Choose one of these tags for Topic Guides.

  • diversity
  • scholarly-publishing
  • other

If you have suggestions for additional sub-categories on these pages (once there are enough guides for them), send us your idea using our feedback form.

If you are creating guides for Special Collections or HSL, we aren't yet using the tag system (though we may in the future).

Where to enter Subjects and Tags

Look near the top left of your page for Subjects and Tags. Click the pencil icon to edit them.

Set a subject

The subject you add will bring guides and databases together on pages like this one for Education. The subject will show as a clickable link on the bottom of your guide that leads to pages like these:

Choose a subject from the drop-down menu on one of the pages above. Feel free to add more than one if your guide should appear in more than one subject.
